sul sul! merry christmas (and/ or happy holidays/ winter/ end of year/ etc!) with enormous and endless thanks to all the contributors, we had a successful advent this year! i hope it was somewhat reminiscent of ye olde ts2 prime. here's my contribution to your "under the tree" gifts but be sure to check either the public archive here or the tumblr hashtag #TS2AdventCollab2025 to see if any other santas stopped by to leave you something! i'll also be reblogging as i see them today and tomorrow like i've been doing with the main calendar! when i get back from vacation i'll have a non tumblr archive hosted as well because yk how that site is LOL.

first up is something simple. a little set i made for angela as an adult because i had her running a historical site/ maritime museum. 4 recolors of io's retexture of a webluepeace 4t2 blazer, and 2 shoe swaps of her tbto skirt that she made for trapping because i thought it would be really cute with alternate options too. the first pair is the lace up suede shoes by pforestsims, and the other pair is io's knee boots. there are 8 recolors (including the original colors) of each pair. these are for AF only.

next up is a huge set the AL split dress! for TF-EF, using io's bow flats. they come in the original colors, nosferatuman's recolors, pforest's recolors, and a few patterns i did (28 colors total). everything is repositoried to one master texture file as usual, because i don't want multiple versions in my game and i don't want to have to keep certain colors for all ages etc. if you don't want certain colors AT ALL for any age group, you can always open the master texture file in simpe and delete the texture in there if you need to. no default yet but i probably will in the new year!

next we have two outerwear edits! i cut the pants and boots off a yuxi outfit and put them with nilou's edit of the maxis leather coat and goat's retexture of a cocomama trench coat. for AF only and comes in 6 and 10 recolors (just the originals recolors). i will probably do some other stuff with the nilou coat because it's one of my favorites but with all the irl xmas stuff i was working on plus this stuff, i didn't have time.

finally something for the boys!!! this is an edit of yuxi's 3t2 faire folk sylvan outfit. i am not sure who made the TM mesh, but the CU is by kalynn. i just remade all the original recolor files so i could delete extraneous textures, recategorize, etc (also i can't fine the conversion recolors cause google is shit so i just remade those too). and i made 6 a little bit fancier recolors.

lastly a sparkly makeup set! this is a blend of io's regina lips, tealeaf's in this world lips, and i think my sugar plum lips but honestly atp i couldn't tell you LOL. they use io's regina alpha which is very strong because these are meant to be glam party lips. you get several browns and pinks to suit multiple more natural tones, some jewel and glam colors (including a light blue for gvaudoin), and i tried to do a few sparkly swatches in party colors BUT idk. if you want a softer edge, pforestsims has a lip overlay that works great with them that fades the edges out a bit. i may do a more natural set in the future with a realpha but who knows. the psd is in the psd folder linked in my sticky post!

the eyeshadow is a blend (both alpha and texture) of tealeaf's santa fe which is my favorite ever because it looks good on all the eye shapes i've tried it with and a sparkly bruno shadow (i think crush? it's from a big set). i did my best with this LOL but after doing some basics i just ended up trying to do a big set with colors i liked so that's why there's so much green haha.

ts2 advent day 19 (make-up)!

yesterday there was a little bit of a mix-up so here we are with a treat for the 19th! these are the nyc2 pants (hermia's outfit) separated for both AF and TF! i did a version with the original shoes, and a version with the moon boots because i wanted some nicer boots on them and i think it looks cute with the sun on the belt! all the textures are in one master file, and they DO have their original normal maps (no duplicates in the files though!) to keep their details. for everyday and outwear!

first up we have a shortened version of the happy holidays mrs. claus dress! i used skell's conversions (and i think her colors? idk i haven't ever touched the maxis version LOL). comes in skell's colors and 2 blues. with uggs and matching bows (for ts3 by simplicaz, converted by eir, and i used yandereplum's recolors) and 3 different tights versions (reindeer by deedee, io's knit tights made cream colored, and skell's white snowflake tights). for TF-AF. has a preg morph

next up are some recolors of skell's separated scarf sweaters (stealing a scarf texture from goatskickin), and i separated the pants from executables-sims' updated bg punk outfit! both for TF-AF. pants should have preg morphs, i'm unsure about skell's sweater meshes since i didn't touch them! also i don't know if these swatches are in order, i am sorry! you can find these in everyday and outerwear.

next up is a default replacement of TF and AF topvnecklongsleeve! these use edited meshes by catofevilgenius and pforest-sims (edited again by me for the uv-mapping to match). the meshes and textures are SEPARATE FILES-- make sure you keep the mesh file, and choose ONLY ONE texture file! i did some alternates for the 3 patterned vnecks. all 3 swatches below!

this default is sponsored by microscotch! my feelings on defaults recently have been to try and keep it close to maxis but actually nice haha. so i opened up a psd from needlecream to help me with shading and used trapping's knit texture to make the maxis sweaters SIMILAR but in more wearable colors and in a nicer texture. i have included psds in the creator resources folder for anyone who wants different colors, and i also put custom TF and AF meshes in the resources folder as well for anyone who wants to make a custom version (just link your recolors to those meshes) and i put the dds files for direct import into simpe so you can keep your texture quality rather than exporting and reimporting from my default files.

LAST! we have the juliette holiday dress! this is also sponsored by microscotch because i saw an add for unique vintage, said i wanted it in the sims, and she was like that looks like something juliette would wear! this shit took so long smhhh and also the reason i'm posting so late in the day because i noticed some last minute clipping issues i had to fix (ofc!) comes in 8 colors for TF-AF in formal category. they are enabled for EF too, but if you don't like that you can fix it quickly in outfit organizer. they have a preg morph.

the shoes are shiny! if you want to recolor this, you are gonna have to put in some work in simpe! i made a video tutorial on what you need to do (it's easy) and also i added some info for how to repository between ages too. you can watch it here.

i included psds for each part, as well as shoeswap bases. if you want to do a shoeswap, you need to make a recolor of one of those files, import it into bodyshop, and link it to your new mesh and use THAT as your base recolor so you don't have to fight with the envcube stuff for a normal shoe haha. you will still want to follow that video to delete the tulle2 texture and repo it to tulle so you only have one. i also included the precolored textures if you want to keep the colors and just swap the shoes, so you don't lose image quality by exporting and reimporting.

i did my best to close up the transparent gaps in the original mesh and minimize clipping. please let me know if anything is wacky (there is a spot if you zoom in at the armpits i can't fix, so anything other than that LOL).

this is a combo of some 3t2 meshes! elexis heels (martini + executables-sims), a 3t2 dress by deedee (the skirt), and the faux fur dress 3t2 by zeussims. velvet, faux fur, tulle, and snowflake glitter with glitter heels :D some real holiday drama for you

okay here is the first mesh with these shoes! i thought they would be cute on cassandra's dress so i put the on io's retexture (all 4 of her recolors are included). the moons are silver for green and black, and gold for blue and red. i was supposed to change the background to something more dark for ~halloween~ but i forgot halfway thru taking these previews lmfao. anyway.

there is some clipping around the feet when they do exaggerated movements. i couldn't fix it. then i looked at the original mesh and it was on there too so like thanks a lot maxis for making struggle lol. for AF and includes a preg morph since it was in io's mesh already.

next up i thought they were perfect for lilith's original dress HOWEVER i only did this for AF. this is rudhira's edit, with io's fishnets. i also took off the choker and wrist cuffs so custom jewelry can be used. comes in the 4 colors rudhira had (idk if they are all maxis colors lol) and katsurinssims' really nice retextures. i think there is a preg morph on this one too. the moons match the outfit colors.

yes another swap! this one was lraerose's lilithia dress that i had previously did a shoeswap on. i thought it would be cute with these too. it has some pretty crazy clipping around the feet when they are doing big steps that is also in the maxis mesh and i can't fix it sorry! i did 4 extra recolors (pink, lime (pictured), light purple (pictured), and ghostly blue + the original 4 recolors. for mine i just messed with the selective color setting in ps til i liked it so they are experimental i guess. a swatch is included, and the moons match the dresses. the lime one has glow in the dark moons instead of just shiny metal.

the last one! pantless version includes panty only (by bruno), black tights (by io), fishnets (by io), black jeans, and blue jeans (by deedee). moons are just whatever i felt like putting (silver or gold). i uploaded my moon recolors too so if you don't like any of them you can just open up the package and replace it.

if you want to do a shoe swap, you can clone this file for bottoms, and pull its gmdc for either and you will have a separate group for the legs, boots, and moons for easy mapping. if you want to put them on a full body mesh, use this gmdc but clone the cassandra dress version for your recolor file in bodyshop because it has a moon, shoes, and body group and it saves you the step of adding groups in the property set.

to choose the shine/glow, you can just merge in pf's shine settings (here) in the moon txmt. i'm using shiny gold for the warm/gold color moons, cool sparkles for the silver/cool tone moons, and glowing for the glow in the dark (lol).

this dress by deedee that i had previously put these pointy heels on, but i don't want to have to be like why ya titty out for all my sims, so i put the silky vanity cami by io as a modesty layer. there is a swatch included bc i don't think the file names match up to the original lol.

12 lipsticks!! this is my old desperado lips but the super matte lip moment has beeeeen over for a really long time for me LOL. so i put a little bit of the metamorphosis lips in too for a soft little blur and shine. i also blended slightly the bruno alpha i was using in the NYD lips with the pretty bold edge with one from a lidiqnata lipstick. idk i like how the lips are strongly colored with a strong edge but still a little blurred. these come in 2 pinks, 2 browns, a coral, for your more natural/ neutral makeup sims, and then 7 DARK colors (green, blue, black, purple black, dark plum, cool red, and a deep berry).

and here is a bodyshop swatch on s1, 3, and 4 to see how they look on everyone! (with my reshade which is really warm SORRY lol)

BONUS ITEM!!! i wanted bonehilda to still have her ~look~ but not be in a mini skirt when she appears in something wicked. so i pulled the skirt down on deedee's 3t2 conversion. i only included the black recolor, there is a little clipping when she does big movements, and the texture is unedited, i just pulled the mapping around to make it look normal on the new mesh. you would need the invisible stuff from sentate's original bonehilda here if you wanted to use her new dress! if you already have bonehilda in your game i'm sure you already have it lol.

i actually wanted to put her in the bon voyage maid out fit but that lacks her sparkle and i didn't have time lol.

misc cc: i started this shit in october! edition

hello everyone it has been 32 years since you have last heard from me for real! some of this shit was started in october or possibly even earlier, idk, and finished probably in the beginning of november, lol. i finally got it tested and previewed. i had a LOT going on and very little free time and tbh i still don't know which way is up so please bear with me if i miss a credit or something!

first up is an edit + a show swap + AF conversions of veranka's body electric tf outfit.

originally the four converse tf files were just edited originals, but i ended up changing them to completely new files because i changed some of the jacket textures. here's what's included:

4x original outfits w/ converse for TF enabled for everyday, with fixed shoe sounds, text and skulls removed off the jackets, and the blank normal maps removed.
4x outfits that are a shoe swap to pixicat's/io's docs, with recolors by deedee.
YOU ALSO GET! tights versions of both of the above! i think the tights textures are by deedee? and they are enabled for everyday + outerwear

i also converted the outfits (both shoe versions + all recolors of each) for AF since i always liked this outfit but never used it because i don't play teens lol. AF should have a pregmorph.

all textures are in one master texture file to save space. so don't delete it lol

next is lucilla-sims' 4t2 pants for TF-EF, but i wanted something more beachy so i did some muted recolors, slapped a linen overlay on it, and swapped the shoes to this conversion by lazyeyelids/memento. don't delete the master texture file.

here's a version of the af labcoat i made a while back with a turtleneck and loafers. it's custom only for AF only since it's for a specific sim and comes in 5 colors. turtleneck textures are from cheryl14 at mts and the shoes are converted by memento and pulled off an io retexture. everything else is the same as the original edit i did, so additional credits go to bunhead and PF.

nosferatuman made these recolors/defaults of the actual NL outfit at the same time i was like hmmm i need a turtlenack labcoat so if you like the look i suggest getting your girlies the outwear to match the vibe lol

i loooooved this skirt when deedee converted it but i wanted the shoes to be less glam. initially i was going to convert some ts4 shoes for this (now i can't remember the inspiration but they were platform boots with moon cutouts, and they were pretty old) but i couldn't get the files to extract without throwing an error, so i just set out to edit my own lol.

i don't have time to make every color from a set anymore especially if i won't use them, so you only get like 10 of the skirt colors i liked best.

for the boots, i edited io's edit of the tss boots to be platforms, and i took a 3D moon from some 4t2 earrings by deedee and put them on the boots. there are multiple colors of moons depending on what color the skirt is, and they are shiny (big thanks to PF's txmt settings to make it look right). the white skirt has a glow in the dark moon.

i also put io's torn fishnets on them (as you can see lol).

UPDATE 10/30/25: i updated these to have the correct shoe sound... looks like i only had one selected when changing heels to boots instead of all of them smh. files updated!

OK LOL so as far as i know these are just recolors of my nyd lips. i wrote gradient but you could also say dramatically lined i guess. idk!!! anyway 10 colors and i made them bc i wanted to convert the ts4 spellcaster gradient lips but i'm clearly doing something wrong with tattooer cause everybody else is getting amazing results and i am not! lol

also my reshade is very warm, so see the swatch for more accurate color tones.

lucilla-sim's conversion of ep16dressblouse for teens. i thought it would be cute for angela for like, important functions. also did a version with pixicat's docs (some have tights, some don't, and docs are different colors including some florals--all by deedee except the original doc recolors) in case you're lilith and your mom is insisting you dress nicely for whatever even she has going on and this is the best you can do. lol

all morphs included because i just sized it down and matched neck/ shoulder vertices rather than running it through wsos this time :P

the original version with the flats is repositoried to lucilla's af version. if you don' t have the af version and don't want it, you can use the included master texture file. if you DO have the af version, you can delete the master texture file.

here's a bunch of stuff i've had finished or mostly for months lmfao

edit of the EF classic dress to remove the bow, shoeswapped to add some loafers by trapping and stockings from io iirc, and using nilou's retexture. i did some recolors of my own too.

pulled the shawl off of bayoubashsims' granny shawls (mesh by skell) and made it into an accessory. it does NOT morph with the body because it's an accessory but the front is pulled out far enough that it will work for fat sims too. i was having some clipping issues on fat sims until i redid the bones HOWEVER i am not sure if that fixed it, or the fact that i use a mod to make the elders walk without hunching (linked here). it's beyond my skill to make it move with the body anymore than it already does lol. added my own recolors and included some psds. you can have this either as an accessory OR jewelry (necklace) but not both so only pick one version.

i also edited the maxis bun to be bigger and pulled the sticks off it. i know evelyn's bun is bigger in sdv but i wanted this to be usable for others too haha. i honestly don't remember since it's been finished for a while but i think the straight version is simgaroop's retexture using remi's, and i blended the ea wildfire texture for v2 from this hair by sophie. for TF-EF. colors by pooklet (nhs).

here's a MASSIVE set of eye rescleras. the full 49 eye mouseyblue lucky mix set with the same alfredaskew sclera i always use AND the atomic recolors i stumbled upon by alfredaskew at tbto (8 eye textures x like 30~ recolors each). they had already edited that sclera to be more animation friendly but i put the same one i always use on them for uniformity + i like it lol. there are like 300 eyes here!!

all eyes are geneticized (aa's were already done but i edited some values) and supernatural looking colors are super recessive. i didn't townify these as is my preference recently (no one is allowed to walk around looking cool without my permission lmao)

as usual, these eyes use the original package files so you CANNOT have both. i edited the file names slightly to add an ap_ prefix and remove special characters, so make sure to delete the originals if you already have them and would rather use these. no defaults included because the lucky mix set uses all different textures.

just some rescleras of some really beautiful older eyes by zombiejill! these use the same sclera by alfredaskew that i always use. they are geneticized and townified (unnaturals are super recessive and not townified). these use zj's original packages and have not been renamed. only use my version or the originals, never both.

defaults are marked on swatches with a little green dot but idk which files they are tbh and i only included for convenience as usual, so i suggest opening the files in simpe, extracting the pngs of colors you want for your defaults, and then importing them into the default package in simpe if you want to use these as defaults. or you can just delete the duplicate customs in bodyshop.

show me passion: only the natural eyeset included, as i'm not going to use the demon eyeset.

fluid: all eyes included, nothing special to note!

show me love: all eyes done, but the 3 dark sclera have only been resized (from 2048px lol) because they were animation friendly already. i kept the eye shine on the whites because i thought it looked really nice and they wouldn't be the same without it.

i've been making these so i can do some relaxing pelican town gameplay, and finally finished them all. do they suffer from same face? possibly but i never really cared about that sooo. with thanks to deedee, alfredaskew, io, revolvertrooper, becca, backerbse, rented-space, and probably others i'm forgetting for face templates, edited clothing (and some clothing i took directly from deedee's sdv sims because it was already perfect lol), etc.

sims are packed with basegame hair because it's annoying to install a sim with cc hair when you don't actually want the hair. instead, i listed the hair pictured and if you want that particular hair, you can go to the hair database and get whatever textures you want for it.

sims do have custom cc skins and eyes, which are all my edits of various files found in this tag. ALL eyes are my resclera/ gen/ town edits and will conflict with the original creator's files, so if you choose to install the eyes, make sure you don't already have the original version (listed with each sim for convenience). SOME skins will conflict with the original creator's files (anything originally by alfredaskew and io) and this will be specified with each sim so you can ensure you only have one version. i figure most people use their own skin and eye sets and won't install the eyes/ skins anyway, but since some of the skins have face detailing, you do need them if you want them to look exactly the same.

i finished these before my birthday but i didn't get around to uploading them (had to take preview pics and was scared to load my game bc i thought i might have hit the object limit again LOL) before leaving so here they are way later. i tried these with the tattooer but i ended up just pasting them onto mdp's 4t2 leggings/ jeans mesh where they fit perfectly and the bodyshape is better than the ts2 nude bottom anyway sooo. they come with my conversion of pixicat's buckleboots for everyday and outerwear and then my edit of pf's edit of io's 4t2 sentate pumps (lol) for everyday and formal. all original legging colors included. rented-space did a baggier conversion of these before but i wanted something skintight.

i've been wanting some stress free gameplay (i haven't actually just played since i game back to the community, it's all been story screenshots lol) so i've been making over the sims in toshiro's pelican town to just run a little farm/ do a little family gameplay (i'm also bored with my actual sdv save and no way am i starting over from scratch haha). anyway i needed some junimos to have around. these are originally for ts4 by simlasya. i smoothed out the fabric look of the textures so they could be "real" spirits hanging around and included a psd to recolor them if you don't like mine or just need more colors. they are around ankle/ midcalf height for sims iirc. they should be in deco/sculpture for $16.

cat fur whisker accessories

after MUCH trial and error, we FINALLY have 3D cat whiskers that are wearable with collars for ts2! this wouldn't have been possible without kitteninthewindow guiding me the entire time and looking in the packages when they weren't working!!! and because she shared the very easy tutorial with some resources after we got the adults/ elders working, they work for kittens too! these use subtype-bin BxE from kitw's chart in her tutorial, so they are compatible with everything on there.

these whiskers are repositoried to the base coat color, so they will be whatever color your cat base coat is. the mesh is from lazyduchess' ts3 edits. jacky93 made a collar version of these whiskers previously, which is where i got the idea. i reconverted ld's whiskers with the brows as well, remapped them to kitw's accfurcards2018 file (included, make sure you keep this file in your DL or the whiskers won't show up!), and here we are! they move with the face (this was our big hurdle after getting everything else working, lol) and can be worn by any cat preset. they will warp slightly on some (the smushy kitties will get slightly messy whiskers) but it isn't too bad from what i've seen! the black cat in the previews uses a smush face preset. these are with the other fur accessories in the top option of tab 4 (i think that's where the fur acc are lol).

kittens will be born with them if their parents had them!

maxis breed default replacements with added whiskers are linked below, so strays can generate with them! these must be placed in the Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection (or whichever version you have) > PetBreeds (NOT the downloads folder) and let them OVERWRITE. Make a backup of this folder first in case you want to remove the whisker accessory. you can open up the package for any custom breed you have and add the whiskers to the AGE DATA as explained below if you want to!

Oh btw, the way to add whiskers to already existing cats and breeds is to open up their Age Data and change 2 things. The first is to add a line that says pbd# (dtstring) = f6a899ba-427e-4328-55c6-7a8bf58bb5e3 (my note: this is the family dstring from the xmol in the packages)

(my note: to get to the aged data, open simpe, then go to the topbar and select tools > neighborhood > neighborhood browser. select your neighborhood and let it load up. then go to tools > neighborhood > sim browser and select the cat you want to add the whiskers to from the list and click open. in the pluginview of the sim description you just opened, click the icon that looks like a blue cabinet with files in it that says "more" and select open character file. in the resource tree on the right you should see Age Data (AGED). click on that and do the following in the plugin view! click commit after changes and make sure to click file > save or ctrl + s at the end)

The # will be different for each individual cat just depending on how many fur accessories they already have. pbd0 if they have none, but if they already have pbd's listed in the age data just +1 to the highest pbd.

Next, find a line that says numpbd (dtUInteger) and +1 to whatever it already says. This tells the game how many fur accessories the pet or breed is wearing

numpbds and pbds are usually near the bottom of the list, probably around 4th from the bottom, so they should be easy-ish to locate

~~i will make a video tutorial asap, but i wanted to get these shared!~~ don't be scared of simpe! make backups before editing any files and if you mess something up just replace with your backup.

here's the video tutorial showing how to add the whiskers to custom pet breeds so strays using them will have whiskers, and to already existing pets in your neighborhoods! sorry for the poor sound idk what was going on with the mic, also i dropped something while recording lol. and since i did this on the fly there is a lot of pausing and "ummmmm" haha. here's the string you need to be pasting (same as the written instructions of course): f6a899ba-427e-4328-55c6-7a8bf58bb5e3

back up your breed files and your neighborhoods before editing!

fyi you can follow the tutorial for existing pets up to the simbrowser part, then just write down the character file names for the cats (they are listed in the simbrowser on the right, something like N001_User00023-- the first 4 will be your neighborhood code), and close out of the neighborhood in simpe. then you can just navigate to your neighborhoods > NHOOD NAME CODE (ex. N001) > characters folder and open the files directly from there. way easier if you have a lot of cats to add whiskers to!

UPDATE 7.19.24: fixed a visual glitch where there was a little floating tuft of fur under the belly. links have been updated and you can just replace the file with the new one. MAKE SURE you delete your accessory and groups cache files as well as the content registry file in your ts2 documents folder so the game recognizes the update! unfortunately if you already had these on a pet and you loaded a lot with the pet, you will probably have to go to a mirror and edit the appearance (i just put a collar on, or take one off if they had one), save the lot, leave it, and reenter it for the pet to update its appearance. i'm not sure if just playing for a while will update it, but this is the way i know to update it.

really sorry i didn't catch it before i shared bc of how sticky pet stuff is!

UPDATE 10.31.24: added a white whisker only version for belladovah, who requested it since almost all cats just have white whiskers. it isn't possible to make a non-slaved fur accessory (you have to make a separate recolor for every single coat color), so this one just doesn't pick up any color and defaults to white. technically you can have this and slaved version in your game at the same time, but they can be applied at the same time and idk what kind off visual glitch effects it will have other than the slaved version overwriting the white if you have a kitten born with both sets of whiskers for example, so i suggest choosing one or the other unless you really want both. i added the white whiskers petbreeds default below as well. the family string for the new white only whiskers for use with the simpe tutorial is dab4deb2-412d-583b-6b0e-44843b72e813

IF YOU'RE ALREADY USING THE SLAVED VERSION AND WANT TO SWITCH TO WHITE WHISKERS ONLY: you can just download this edit of the original file HERE and replace it in your dl folder. i just changed the subtype in it to 0 so that it can't pick up slaved color. it works exactly the same as the new white file, only your already made pets should update to white whiskers when the game updates their appearance (can be forced by deleting caches, content registry, and changing appearance in a mirror-- sometimes you have to save and reload the lot too). if you do this, don't download the white petbreed defaults, keep using the slaved defaults!

this is a redo of my previous servo default! these use amaryll's mesh and the steampunk robot textures by sherahbim of course, but i changed up some of the "upgrades" used. instead of male and female bots, we now have modest and fancy bots!

body details for both show the cogs on the stomach, have a few meters and vents on the chest and arm, and a keyhole on the back, as well as light etching. faces for modest bots have more basic lashes and brows, and no etching. faces for fancy bots have fancy etching and fancier brows and lashes. both faces have sherahbim's robot ears added.

the heads use edited versions of almighty-hat's carvings and different colored eyes for supernatural states. for normal modest and fancy bots, the eyes are green and they have the mercury symbol on the back of their heads instead of the gendered mars and venus symbols. for witches, they eyes are purple, and the mercury symbol has a pentagram added to the center. werewolves have yellow eyes an moons added to the mercury symbol, but apparently there is some kind of game glitch that prevents the werewolf servos from getting custom textures so they don't actually show up :( i recycled the moon symbol for vampires because of this (but if someone knows a mod that fixes it i will give them a unique carving lol). vampires also have red eyes, and fancy vampires have a lipstick by zombiejill (one that looks more like paint on metal than the original one i chose imo)

these servos also have custom formal wear!! they use letomill's androgynous edit of yuxi's arcturus outfit! modest bots wear all black, while fancy bots get a nice dark red top.

servos come in two colors: original brass and silver edit. i think this silver is a little lighter than the original default i did. each color has a matte or shiny option. their uninitialized versions are included, as well as queen of france's no glowing ball edit.

my files are merged and contain everything you need for your servo, so if you have any version of the following items you need to delete them before installing my default! make sure to delete:

any version of gambit's obsession's uninitialized servos
almighty-hat's matte package (AlmightyHat_DR-Servo-Matte-Package)
queen of france's no glowing ball (DEFAULT_Servo_noglowingball)
any kind of servo mesh default (amaryll's is separate from the textures, so double check!)
any kind of servo default textures

**filenames have been edited for special characters so they might not be exactly that in your folder if you have them!**

only pick ONE file from my folder. if you want to change the pronouns on your fancy or modest bots, i think you can use the "treat sim as m/f" option on midgethetree's rcc. if you have any other mod recs that do something similar please let me know so i can link them! unfortunately i don't think there is a they/them option anywhere for ts2.

FOR CREATORS: here's the mesh only and the textures used in the formalwear (SFS DOWNLOAD) if you want to have another androgynous default use the formal outfit. you can just replace amaryll's mesh package with mine, and open up your desired texture default in simpe. extract the body texture, paste the included clothing textures over it in photoshop (i also included shoes only, in case you want use a different arcturus recolor, just paste the shoes over that because i had to remap them to fit on the mesh). you have to do that step or the neck and hands will be invisible lol. then you can import those over the texture files for afbodylobotdress-pink_txtr and ambodylobotjacket-black_txtr in simpe and your androgynous bot will now have formal clothes.

io shared this conversion of some of the sentate x enrique sheena tops, and i just converted the rest of the swatches. i added the hem to the bottom of the t-shirt like io's have so they look complete. mesh by memento included. you still need to download io's conversions for those swatches.

#31 is just a black t-shirt under the black snakeskin jacket that i made for myself, it's not pictured on the swatch.

maxis cheer edits for TU-AU

for female sims, i have needlecream's 'cheerful epsilon' dress, with the bust of a catofevilgenius top to make it more sporty/less vacuum-boobed, and these shoes by pf/onyx. there is a second matching version for the girls with a turtleneck by rudhira layered underneath. i made colors for all the maxis neighborhood highschools (veronaville has 2: a prep academy for the capps and a regular high school for the montys) and for the three maxis unis. these are labelled in the swatch and the lettering on the chest matches the schools. i also did a default replacement of ufbodycheerleader using the colors of the original, with icons from freepik (blue has a llama, and red has a bull bc of the cow mascot lol). i used needlecream's psd to create the textures and everything you need to create your own colors/ change things around/ etc is included in the zip in the psds folder. font used (runcible spoon) is linked as well.

for male sims, i made matching recolors of the cheer outfit converted by mdp (teen version by deedee) using a psd by noodle (matching edit of the psd is included). i wanted to do a default of the YA llama mascot for the boys but i wasn't sure if it would work because they also use the aubody mesh at some points according to the default database and i don't know how to edit the clothing coding to make it so i don't have to replace both lol. male sims have matching recolors to the female defaults.

everything is everyday/ gym. only teens get the hs colors, and only ya/a get the uni colors.

matching recolors of platasps 4t2 pompoms are also included. not pictured because i'm not loading up the game again lol. they are accessories for everyday/ gym.

i was inspired by h0nkytonkangels' edit of mouseyblue's skins to do my own! then i edited the other skins i use because i wanted everyone to have tongue textures. so here are a bunch of skins in a matching(ish) system that suits my own needs, and i'm sharing in case anyone else wants them. the skins are all sort-indexed to be grouped together. previews are not that exciting because the edits are just me combining things, and i have reshade on like always. i made these for myself according to what i wanted/ needed, and sharing as-is.

1. first is my edit of alfredaskew's reconstruction skins. these are my main set and i love them because they have full fit and age states, the facial details work with all kinds of masks and makeup, and they are super detailed and have skin texture without being shiny. you can see previews of the bodies, details, and colors here and here on alfredaskew's original post as my edits were small and did not touch the bodies at all. all colors are included and use alfredaskew's packages, so you MUST let them overwrite/ remove old versions if you have them.

my edits are as follows:

added sixfootsims' tongue textures
repasted rensim's lashes and teeth, as some were miscolored. lashes just make sure the maxis eyelashes that everyone hates don't pick up any skin color, they aren't painted on the eyelid texture.
regeneticized to fit in with the rest of my skins shared here, and unnaturals are not in the natural skin spectrum
natural colors are townified, unnatural are not (unnatural faces also are not pictured here, they are in alfredaskew's trapping colors posts)
new tooltips
toddlers now have only four growing teeth. due to the way the packages were set up, babies will also have the toddler teeth. i figured it was better for the baby to have a couple of teeth than for the toddlers to have zero (or to continue having the adult teeth, lol)
also included are S1-S4 defaults (light rose, sunkissed, olive, and dusk, so delete those customs if you use the defaults) and a new minty alien S5 default by me
the original four skintones (the ones that aren't in the trapping colors post) have been renamed and recolored as i didn't like the original maxisy tones, but they still use alfredaskew's packages so you need to delete their originals. they are very similar to the trapping tones so if you wanted to delete them and just keep the trapping tones you probably won't notice the difference (they are the files labeled "ap_AlfredAskew_Reconstruction_S1-edit" for S1-S4), i just included them because i have them in my game.

2. next is my edit of mouseyblue's sugar, dusk, palm, soft gold, rising sun, and ecuador skins, as well as pooklet's dusk recolors. i loved h0nkytonkangels' idea of putting the faces on new bodies to include fitness states and editing the tongues in, etc, so i took her edits and edited them onto the bodies from alfredaskew's reconstruction skins. these are new packages, and the body textures for each set that are all one base color are in a separate file, so that all the bodies in that set are repositoried to it to save a ton of space. DO NOT deleted the body-TXTR files. preview the bodies at alfredaskew's posts linked above, because i didn't change them except to match the tone of the mouseyblue faces.

other edits are as follows:

added the elder details that h0nkytonkangels used to pooklet's recolors (simnopke's wrinkles and loosiap's eyebags)

3. next is my edit of jessy's sucker punch skins and io's skins. i've always loved the faces on the sucker punch skins, but they needed fit and age states. because they are smoother in the face than the previous skins, i put them on the bodies from io's skins instead of the alfredaskew ones. i also use io's set because i don't think it looks out of place with the others and sometimes i need a more sculped look. these have all fit states, different age states, and babies just have basic gums in this one. the sucker punch skins are new packages, but io's are their original packages. check the body details and io's colors here.

geneticized (and regeneticized in io's case) to fit with the rest of the skins here
NOT townified
elder sucker punch faces have the same details added as the mouseyblue skins

4. my edit of hp's idolatry beyond skins. these were 4 unnatural blue and grey recolors of the idolatry of flesh skins, which were the basis of the reconstruction skins. i just added the tongue, teeth, and lashes textures, and geneticized them to fit in with the unnaturals in this post. you can look at hp's original download for previews, as my edits don't justify new previews lol. download: DROPBOX // SFS

5. some supernatural defaults to match:

vampire default: hp's wraith skin (light blue-gray) at a really low opacity with skell's vampire bite scars (female neck bite was moved to fit the female mapping!) and loosiap's dark circles. no eyes included and nipples/ belly buttons have been edited out so they don't misalign with the base skin's nipples. this was inspired by dreadpirate's calm depths vampire overlay. this will make your sim a little cooler/paler/deader, but you will still be able to have vampires of all races. i don't know how well it will overlay with other skin sets' bodies as i made it for these. it's a little cooler in game, my reshade is very warm lol. download: DROPBOX // SFS

zombie default: this is an overlay (thanks to midgethetree) using withlovefromsimtown's six feet under zombie default and fantasyrogue's tabula rasa zombie default. i put the alphas from the blue six feet under with the tabula rasa textures, to get a more "natural" (lol) zombie that was still an overlay. this DOES use tabula rasa's rotten teeth, and the eyes will go filmy but still show your sim's natural color. nipples and belly buttons have been blurred out to prevent misalignment on your sim's base skin. download: DROPBOX // SFS

witch defaults: there are many out there that i like, but i've settled on these for now. just an edit of rockethorse's runes. i made the evil witch tattoo a little smaller and either black or red (as if the skin is still raw from being carved for something more dramatic lol), and you can only pick one version. i moved the good witch runes to the spine and altered the colors just a little. download: DROPBOX // SFS

werewolf defaults: added sharp teeth by crisp&kerosene and yellow eyes by astiees to epi's correlated werewolf overlay. you still need epi's mod, just let my overlay file overwrite theirs! you may also want this mod to remove the werewolf hair, and this one to fix the fangs. download: DROPBOX // SFS

plantsim default: this is just fantasyrogue's tabula rasa plantsim with added tongue and lashes textures like the rest of my skins. preview it at their lj bc i did no other edits. download: DROPBOX // SFS

6. added tongues, lashes, and teeth to the deer skin trapping made me and the recolors i shared for simblreen last year (preview at that post). just replace the files! they are not geneticized or townified. download: DROPBOX // SFS

7. a bunch of alfredaskew and mouseyblue eye rescleras like the other one's i've done. i have NOT touched the textures except to put the new sclera on. also includes a lidiqnata eye, io's edit of mouseyblue's leftover eyes, and tsld's recolors of alfredaskew's tx2 eyes. the io set of defaults and the alfredaskew eyes that only came as default have been given custom versions. default eye packages are included for those who don't want to make their own, however i highly suggest exporting the textures you want from simpe and reimporting them into the default package because i just quickly made them as a courtesy lol. all are geneticized except for the lidiqnata eyes, and ONLY the tx2 eyes (and their sondry wyse recolors), model c, and model n eyes are townified. be aware the mouseyblue eyes were not made to be on an animation friendly sclera, and the tops of the irises (visible in animations where the eyes are wide) are dark. the mouseyblue eyes were geneticized by frankscrank. these use the original creator's packages, so be sure to let them overwrite or delete the originals. swatches by original creators are included. download all: DROPBOX // SFS

hey guys!! i thought i'd do a video tutorial for the simpe part of kitw's tutorial. it looks intimidating but i promise even a beginner can do it and hopefully the video will show you how simple the process is. this video does NOT tell you how to edit your images. it's only for the simpe part!

you will need to have simpe set up and if you are importing your images in simpe like i do vs. using bodyshop you will want the nvidia dds utilities set up too. if you don't already have it set up, here is the version i have: simpe (SimPe_075f_qa.7z); this version doesn't have the pinups lmao. if you get an xml error about the hoods, go here and download it from post #5 and install where it says. you will need to go into the nav bar in simpe, click extras > preferences > system folders and make sure your game paths for all your game, eps, sps, etc are correct. they won't be if you have the UC, and you will need to set them manually. install nvidia dds utilities and on the system folders window where you set up your game folders, tell simpe where to find those utilities.

read through kitw's tutorial here, download their genetics kit linked there, and get your textures edited and ready to go before you start. their tutorial shows you how to make them, edit them (and import via bodyshop too if you'd rather just do that than import your images in simpe-- if you do that, don't import the images when i do in the tutorial because they are already in your package and there is no need), and how to make the packages, etc. you will need to have your packages created in bodyshop and ready to go according to their tutorial as well.

i repeat myself a lot so hopefully it makes sense! and it was really hard not to sniffle constantly LOL we just got back from vacation and someone there maybe should have stayed home bc they got my husband sick and now he has passed it on to me 🤣 and if you want to make custom pet eyes, follow their tutorial here, it's extremely easy. all you have to do in simpe is edit 2 lines in the xtol.

sorry for never paying dogs any attention! here are some 3rd eyes for your alien cats!

i tried to do them as an accessory, but they morph too much with the forehead (like jumping off the face lol). instead, these are custom COAT COLORS. they use four pooklet colors by kitteninthewindow as a base, and the eyes & eyelid detailing are by digi. the alien color is the kitteninthewindow sphynx skin recolored by simmer-until-tender, and the alien eye is by leh. they still morph a little depending on the cat type as you can see in the pics, but they work pretty will even like that imo. you can drag the pics for a larger view.

the colors are black with light green eyes, white with blue eyes, orange with amber eyes, and grey with darker green eyes, + the green alien and black eyes. each of the 5 coats comes with a matching custom eye set so all 3 eyes on your cat are the same. they work with all 3 coat types. there's also a custom marking in case you need to layer it on top of another marking.

i recommend using the coats as your base color and if you want to make something with forehead markings (like a tabby for example), you can also add the included marking as a top layer and apply the eye coat color to it as well.

for the alien skin, if you don't want the nose match the green face skin, i recommend kitw's nose & paw pads marking, also their alien antennae lol. here are digitalangels' pet default eyes i used in case anyone wants the full set.

these pet slider expansions are good for making the alien eyes a little bigger.

UPDATE 6.13.24: added 3 more alien colors from nyren's kosmik palette (pastel blue, pink, and purple). ALSO be sure to replace the green alien color because i edited it a little bit (made the nose a bit darker to look more like the other colors). links have been updated.

the process is actually pretty easy if you follow kitw's tutorial, but for those of you who just want to do an easy texture replacement, i created a bonus package so all you have to do is import your edited textures in simpe. i included some instructions on how the psd is set up for beginners, and the textures in the package file are labeled which fur part they are so they are easy to replace. kitw's volatile fur bases are included too. if you share your edited package, make sure you let people know it's my DIY package because you can only have one edit of the package in your game at a time.

inspired by PF's mesh tweaks that make the maxis stuff usable. i actually like a lot of the maxis stuff, but the godawful shoes/ feet shapes are yuccckkkkk. this uses PF's mesh tweak, but i've always thought this dress looked pretty sporty and would be cuter with sneakers, so here it is with the freetime sneakers. i pulled the dress textures out of artemida's default because i'm lazy. pregmorph included.

what are these grand vampires doing at the club dressed like they've been in the coffin for 500 years? i wanted something vampy yet modern that you might actually see a haughty vampire out and about in this day and age. still fancy and stands out, but not out of place downtown. so i took sentate's long draped vamp dress and made it the default for afdressmedieval. i tweaked the mesh just a little bit to make the foot animate a little better (literally just moved a few vertices back), so i included the mesh for sentate's custom colors with my tweak as well in case you want his custom gold and silver versions too-- replace sentate's mesh with my edit if you keep any custom version of this dress. the defaults use the black, purple, and red versions. red version has been unlocked for all and is what the vampires will show up in. bodyshop preview for it because i forgot to unlock it before taking pics in game. no pregmorph on these.

i really liked epi's open labcoat for men and this was again inspired by PF's mesh tweaks that make the maxis stuff usable. this is PF's nightlife overcoat mesh edit, but i put some shoes by io on it, tweaked the mapping just slightly so the pocket i put on the textures would look normal, and replaced the chain belt with one by bunhead. adults have a pregmorph. only comes in the 2 colors pictured since there are only 2 fem labcoats, and works for TF-EF. custom versions are included, don't delete the TXTR file if you want the custom version!

here is some random stuff from my story. yes the previews are story screenshots and yes that's the best you're getting lol.

1) maxis phone as accessory in the buff/cream color and black, for when you need handsfree use. i made it to use along trendy's phone hack (which only uses the buff color, but some of the animations work with the accessory position too) and included that here because it's hard to find. only for AU-EU. enabled for all categories bc maybe your character loves talking on the phone, idk.

2) i searched for this for ages but couldn't find it??? so here it is in case anyone else needs a single glove. TU-EU and there's one for each hand. you can use any textures for bloom's gloves to recolor, but i needed wrist braces for my story so these come with 2FW's brace textures. accessory version only, enabled for all categories.

3) annie's werewolf outfit. these are the maxis bg denim shorts edited onto this mesh by synapticsim. the leg connection isn't perfect and there is a seam on the uv map on the thighs but it's easily edited out in screenshots. the top is the maxis bg red bra with mesh shirt, and you can paste any top that has the maxis nude mapping onto the mesh instead since it's just a "nude" top. thought i would share in case anyone else wanted to do a screenshot with a clothed werewolf that had big claws and paws.

someone requested these from deedee, and since they were my favorite pants in ts3, and i know how to convert now, here we are! psd included if you want to edit the textures easily. i slimmed the hips and legs a little to make the more inline with the ts2 body, but not too much because part of the reason i loved the pants in ts3 was because of their shape.

paired with the keds edit i did of pixicat's vans, which were originally converted by skeleton-teacup.

there is a teal pair of shoes as well, paired with a teal belt.

for AF only, and they do have a preg morph.

i still haven't played alan wake 2 💔

ballet mix and match of my dreams 🩰

my previous ballet set was only a bandaid for what i wanted lmaoooo. initially i just wanted ballet stuff for hermia but i needed everyone to be able to use it so here we are. a massive set of separates for TF-AF and it's all repositoried within and inch of its life for the smallest file size possible. you need the master texture files so DO NOT delete them. if you don't have ld's separates for all mod, download the outfit organizer and add "everyday" to the categories for pieces that are gym only. then you can buy them from the everyday catalog in game, and they will show up in your gym section when you go to plan your sim's outfit.

LEOTARDS: first you have two top-only leotards in 10 colors (5 maxis skintones and 5 colors i thought suited them). the tank version is just a anna's swimsuit recolored. the longsleeve version is the swimsuit blended with mdp's longsleeve leotard to get the sleeves but keep the scoop neck and back. the TF version is on a basegame mesh, and the AF version is skell's smoothed out top mesh made custom. that mesh is floating in the main folder with the texture files because there are two leotards that use it. these are everyday and gym.

TIGHTS: second, you have freezerbunny's skintone recolor tights as bottoms. i only did the versions with ribbons this time as they are the ones i use and imo the most versatile. these will NOT work with every top. i couldn't figure out how to make a bottom naked layer over the a top naked layer, so these tights are cut out specifically to fit with the leotard bottoms from this post. they will work under top only dresses though! and here are the textures (that i wasted time editing before i realized i couldn't change the layering) in case anyone wants to create recolors with the tights over the leotard, or cut them for different leotards. these are gym only.

SKIRTS: third, you have moyokean's conversion of caio's dainty skirt with maxis tights and ballet shoes. comes in the 9 colors from the original download, and each skirt has tights/ shoes in tones S1-S5. the tights are all repositoried to the master tights texture file, and the skirts are all repositoried to the master skirt texture file. so for these massive folders you only have 14 texture images, and 5 are reused from something else :D gym only.

LEGWARMERS: fourth, moyokean's converted caio legwarmers binned as jewelry (right thumb ring to avoid conflicts). these were such a headache because i could NOT get the custom thumbnails working. so instead i converted the grunge scrunchie 4t2 and put it on the wrist. so you should be able to see the coordinating scrunchie when you go to buy jewelry. if for some reason you still can't, it will show up in the little preview window when you click the hand to add it to cart so you can pick your color. please note all the legwarmers have a scrunchie, but one preview shows them without because i took it before i added it. this scrunchie is on the right wrist.

SCRUNCHIES: fifth, the grunge scrunchies 4t2 on their own! all original colors plus the ones i made to match the legwarmers. these are categorized as jewelry too (left bracelet) and sit on the left wrist. these are for TF-AF only right now, but in the future i will update the files to include more ages/ genders. this set took me like 3 months to get through and i just want to post it LOL.

WORLD CLASS BALLERINA TOP ONLY DRESS: LAST, i know i said i couldn't fix this, but i ended up just copying the bones of another top only dress (why didn't i do that before???) and now it works. ALSO how did i not realize that skell had already made this into a top only??? when i literally pulled her textures out of the recolors from that post?? all that trouble for nothing SMH. anyway these don't use skell's mesh, and i took the rose off. magical_girl_sandbox has a ton of brooches that might work but i thought that rose was just tacky. 10 colors, gym only because who is wearing this out? this uses textures by trapping, gabihime, and skell.

FOR CREATORS: if you want to recolor the scrunchies or legwarmers, you will need the accessory bases so they show up in bodyshop. make sure you don't have the jewelry versions from the main download in your folder at the same time, because they conflict. DL bases: dropbox // sfs

pixicat's buckle boots 3t2. this was actually deceptively hard for me so they aren't 100% perfect. it's been in the folder since december and i honestly don't want to look at it anymore LOL. i did my best with the ankle bones but i honestly don't know what more i can do without distortion so i think they are just fine. i searched for a conversion but i couldn't find one, so hope i'm not stepping on anyone's toes.

they are on a pantless mesh (smoothed buttcrack normals so skintight pant recolors aren't vacuum sealed haha) using deedee's skinny jeans texture (light, medium, dark, and black versions), a recolor with thick black tights by io, and one with underwear by bruno. the non-underwear version are outerwear too.

they are also on deedee's zipper skirt, with io's fishnets (pulled from a default by rudhira). i loved this skirt as soon deedee released it but i wanted a spiced up version too.

some shoeswaps that have been sitting in my folder forever waiting for me to get them together and preview them.

io's flipper skirts v1 an v2 textures with the tights from here and pforest's suede sneakers categorized as everyday, and then i also did a version with these 4t2 madlen boots and io's tights as everyday and outerwear separates. only for AF. thinking about doing the TF version was putting me off posting because i really just didn't feel like it, and i only did these for angela as AF anyway. teens can wear the original converse still lol.

also, memento's bodycon dress with these sneakers from pforest. i felt like it looked kinda sporty so it's categorized as everyday and gym.

lraerose's textures are so beautiful??? i wanted the victorium dress for my younger ladies in the AF bodyshape, i took the bracelets off so you can pick your own, and i went ahead and changed the shoes as well because i don't like the maxis feet shape. i tried to keep the ankle straps because they were perfect, but unfortunately i'm not that talented, lol. so instead, you get a newly edited shoe! these are io's converted sentate heels, which were then edited by pforest to fix the mapping of the skin, but their edit made the heels more rounded. i wanted severe, pointy heels, so i edited the shape of pforest's edit back to pointy LOL. i did the best i could getting them close to their original shape!

the victorium dress is only for AF/YF, categorized as formal. if you want an updated mesh for the elder recolors, pforest made a default of the elder stole dress mesh with a nicer shape.

i also shoeswapped the lilithia dress. i put monilisa's conversion of madlen's dusk diva boots on them, and added io's fishnets (pulled from a default by rudhira).

UPDATE 4.25.24: fixed a uv map issue on one of the heels, and edited the shoe shape a little bit to fix some clipping with the feet. the heels should no longer clip into the feet unless the sim is doing some pretty extreme poses (no ballet in these heels lol). download links have been updated, but if you have already downloaded, you only need to replace the mesh for the victorium dress!

something for the gos theme! here are gryning's butterfly wings as cat collar accessories. you can easily recolor them by following this mts tutorial (but you will clone the blue wings recolor, not the collar package in the tutorial). they come in 5 colors (original blue, and green, pink, orange, and grey using furbyq actions).

i'm going to do a pet accessory tutorial video at some point, since it's actually a lot easier than it seems, but you have to understand a few separate tutorials to do it.

beginner shoe swap tutorial; or, how i learned meshing

okay so i promised i would make this tutorial for someone, so i thought i would go ahead and set it up for everyone. there are a lot of shoe swap tutorials out there but everyone learns differently so here is mine. i've linked the meshes i'm using because if you are a complete beginner, i think it would be easiest to use the same meshes so you can do exactly what i'm doing. i've tried to explain everything as i go assuming you know nothing about making cc except how to export and import in bodyshop. if you have questions i'm happy to help. it's really easy once you get confident with it.

1. first you will want to make sure you have simpe set up: simpe (SimPe_075f_qa.7z); this version doesn't have the pinups lmao. if you get an xml error about the hoods, go here and download it from post #5 and install where it says. if you already have simpe obviously you can use that version!

2. next you want milkshape 1.8.5. it looks like it's no longer actively being supported, so here is info on how to register.

3. then you want all of these plugins (they go in your milkshape folder in program files or wherever you installed it):

weshowe's autojoint
cat's normal smoother
cat's uv flip
cat's uv data merge cat's mesh mirror
tsrw plugins
we won't use all of them for this tutorial but they are good to have and i don't want to list them again for the next one lol.

4. you also want nvidia dds utilities for texturing via simpe, which is the best way to do it because importing via bodyshop gives you lower quality textures. you can do it 2 ways, via build dxt which i will show you in the video, or my preferred way if i'm going to be editing the texture (example: if i'm doing recolors with color actions), which will be at the end of this post.

5. you will also want these programs (again, we won't use all of them here, but they are handy to have and will be used in future tutorials:

compressorizer
bulk rename utility
wardrobe wrangler
outfit organizer

6. last, grab lifa's wso templates because for the next tutorial sometime in february i'm going to go over how to make morphs/ conversions with them.

before you watch the video, please take a look through deedee's post on milkshape for beginners, because it will help you a lot. i try to explain all the things i'm doing but some of it is just second nature, so having this to refer to, and having the base knowledge beforehand, will help a lot.

for this tutorial, we're going to be putting these boots (sentate's cordelia boots converted by digitalangels, made pantless by deedee) on this skirt (tristana v2 by io). so go ahead and download those, make a project folder on your desktop or somewhere easy to find so your project is neat, put them in there, then load up simpe, open milkshape, your photo editing program, and once simpe is open you can load bodyshop and follow along while that loads.

i apologize for my voice, it's too cold for me right now, i'm congested and scratchy, and nothing is more humbling than hearing yourself recorded. i've also never recorded anything like this before, so a lot of ummmms and awkwardness haha. also i curse once or twice because i have a dirty mouth and let a few slip. also yes i am using a super old version of photoshop, i don't like to update things unless i have to because i'm used to this version LOL, also i'm not paying a subscription for something you used to be able to pay once for so my ancient version stays.

if you need to recategorize something after, the outfit organizer i linked is what you want. the download page for that is really good at explaining how to use it, so i'm not going to reinvent the wheel with that.

but here's a quick tutorial on how to make your dds in photoshop like i was talking about (your version is probably newer than mine and may look different):

1. the best way to get the full texture of something is to export the textures in bodyshop, and then go to the projects folder in your sims 2 documents folder (where you would normally edit if texturing via bodyshop). i open the alpha and the texture of the group that i want.

2. then i'm going to select all on the alpha, and copy.

3. after that i'm going to switch over to the texture image, and go to channels.

4. at the bottom of channels, i'm going to select create new channel, and it's going to create an alpha channel.

5. i'm going to make sure the alpha channel is selected, then i'm going to paste the alpha that i copied from the alpha image into the alpha channel that i created on the texture image.

6. after that, i'm going to select the rgb channel and go back into layers so i can do whatever i want to the texture and the only parts that will show up when i save it are the white parts of the alpha, just like when you import via bodyshop.

7. at this point, i usually save this as my psd if it's my base image that i'm going to run color actions over. that way i can do the following steps for each recolor, instead of editing and recompressing a .dds (each time you save a .dds, you are compressing it, so if possible, you want to export your textures from something that hasn't been reimported too many times because the game and simpe are compressing the files too if you import via bodyshop/ build dxt. example: if i wanted to edit a dress that had been shoeswapped, the best thing to do would get the textures from the original dress. if the textures don't look degraded, you don't have to go through all that effort, but for darker textures that have a lot of funkiness, it can help).

8. once i'm ready to save a recolor as a dds, i go to file / save as or use the keyboard shortcut, and select dds as my file format. make sure alpha channels is checked, or you will lose your alpha info and have to paste it in again.

9. then something like this will pop up (this also requires the dds utilities i linked), and you will select dxt5 and save. i don't change any of the other settings. you can do any recolors (objects too for example) this way. then back in simpe, you will just click import dds instead of build dxt (because you've already "built" it in photoshop). i prefer this because it's less clicking than build dxt and goes faster lol. and either way is better than bodyshop, because you have control over the way your image is imported.

if your mesh has a normal map (this is the grey texture called a bump map in ts2 tutorials and the texture file has the word normal in the name in simpe), make sure in plugin view in simpe, you change the type to raw8bit after importing it, and click commit. otherwise, it's going to make your whole thing look wrong.

i know skell's tutorial on normal maps says to just delete them, but i leave them if there already is one and i didn't edit the texture. if you did edit the texture (example: you alpha edited the shirt to change the neckline or something like that) you need to make sure the normal map reflects those changes too, because otherwise it's going to put shadows/ 3d effects where they don't belong on your mesh. if you just want to delete them, skell's tutorial tells you how (it's easy). also, make sure you put the edited normal map in your base recolor after you edited it and linked it to your mesh, before you load back up bodyshop to do your recolors. that way, when you're recoloring the one mesh, the fixed normal map is already in it, and you don't have to import it again (bodyshop can import those fine lol). if you're going to delete it, also do it before you reload up bodyshop to recolor it, because the recolors won't have a normal map and you don't have to do the deletion process again.
